This October we will be co-hosting the first ever all-Island childhood cancer conference, held in collaboration with Childhood Cancer Ireland, National Children’s Cancer Service at Children’s Health Ireland, Crumlin and the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
This important event for healthcare professionals working with children and young people with cancer, and researchers with an interest in childhood, adolescent & young adult cancer, is the first step towards creating a joined-up system of care for children and young people with cancer across the island of Ireland.
It follows the successful example of the All-Island Congenital Heart Disease Network, which shows how North-South co-operation can lead to better services and outcomes.
Our hope is that this cross-border initiative will advance a more equitable, integrated, and collaborative system of care for children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer regardless of geography.
The conference will be an opportunity to hear from a range of speakers , network with colleagues and learn about new developments and plans in the treatment and care of children and young people with cancer.
Delegates range from clinicians and healthcare providers to researchers, academics and patient advocates involved in the paediatric oncology community, across Ireland and abroad.
