Grand Opera House panto cast visit the Unit

OH YES THEY DID!

We were delighted to welcome some of the cast from this year’s Grand Opera House pantomime, Peter Pan, to the Children’s Cancer Unit recently. It brought so much joy and fun to both the children and the staff.

The cast spent time talking to the children and their families as well as the Unit staff and gave out some festive treats and panto goodies.

Visits like these are so special, particularly at this time of year, and they help to break up the usual days spent on the ward or visits to clinic.

A big thank-you to Mrs Smee (AKA May McFettridge), Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinker Bell and Captain Hook- there were smiles all round and very few managed to escape May’s quick tongue!

Wishing the panto cast all the best for the remainder of their run.

Danielle Smyth and a friend enjoy a quiet moment on a bench beside the iconic Paddington Bear statue, which holds a sandwich as if offering it to passersby. A vehicle hums in the background, adding to this picturesque scene that would make for a perfect Mother’s Day feature.
