Individual Giving

Individual Giving

At The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity, every contribution – no matter the size – plays a vital role supporting children, young people and their families as they are treated for cancer. Your donation directly impacts the lives of those we serve, helping to provide essential resources, staffing and practical support.

Why Individual Giving Matters

When you give as an individual donor, whether it’s a one-time donation or a recurring gift, your support will:
  • Allow us to deliver vital services to children and young people with cancer in Northern Ireland.
  • Sustain our mission – every pound helps us to grow and expand our services, ensuring that children and young people have the best possible support during their treatment and care.
  • Demonstrate your support of families during their child’s cancer journey

Ways to Give

However, you choose to give, please know that your donation is important to us and will be used wisely and effectively to maximise its impact.
Make an immediate impact by giving a one-time gift.
Become a Regular Giving by setting up a recurring donation that suits you – eg. monthly, quarterly, annually. Regular giving is an easy way to provide ongoing support and allows us to plan ahead with a stable, reliable source of funding. Even small monthly contributions can lead to big changes over time.
You can honour someone by making a donation in their name. Whether celebrating a loved one’s birthday or marking a special occasion, a gift in celebration is a meaningful way to show you care while supporting our work.
You can celebrate the life of a loved one by making a special gift in their memory. Your gesture will make a lasting impact on the work of The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity and the children and young people we support.
After the loss of a loved one, many families look for a special way of remembering that person and ask family and friends to make a donation to The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity instead of sending flowers. You can make a donation directly through our website, referencing your loved one, or through the Funeral Directors who will collect and forward donations in lieu of flowers.
You can leave a lasting legacy by including The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity in your will. Of course, when making a will, your first consideration will be to provide for your family and friends but leaving a gift of either a lump sum or a percentage of your estate, even 1%, could make a huge difference to The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity in the future.
Many employers offer matched giving programmes, doubling or even tripling your donation. Check with your employer to see if they will match your donation and make your impact go even further.
Gift Aid is a scheme from HM Revenue & Customs that helps donations go further by enabling charities to reclaim an extra 25% on donations made during the past 4 years, as well as on all future donations, without costing the donor a penny. All UK taxpayers are eligible to gift aid their donations.

This means that for every £1 you donate to The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity, we can claim an extra 25p which will go towards supporting children and young people with cancer, through our services.

All we need is a single Gift Aid Declaration, which will cover your future donations and also donations you have made over the last 4 years. Simply select the Gift Aid box when making your donation.

Alternatively, you can complete the Gift Aid Declaration here – (link to downloadable Gift Aid form- pdf)
