AYA Asset Map

We are delighted to be supporting research focusing on the psychosocial needs of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) living with cancer across the island of Ireland. This research is being completed by Ulster University student, Aileen O’Dwyer, and as part of her work, Aileen has designed an all-island asset map, detailing the support available.

The asset map, found below, serves as a community directory to help AYAs and their families find clinical, psychological, and social support services across the island. The map below can be used to search for support, based on the type of service offered or by location.

The map is intended as a useful starting guide. We recognise that everyone’s circumstances and needs are different, therefore, it is up to each individual to contact the service directly to enquire about what support they provide, who can access it, how referrals work, and to check whether the service is appropriate for your specific needs.

The support services detailed in the map include:

  • Clinical Support
  • Mental Health Support
  • Cancer Care Information
  • Therapeutic Support
  • Family Support
  • Practical Support
  • Bereavement Support
  • Educational Support
