The inaugural multi-professional international student Simwars competition

The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity is delighted to be involved in the inaugural multi-professional international student Simwars competition at the ASPiH conference in Belfast this November.

After the success of the RBHSC SimEd’s Paediatric Sim-off last Summer and our association with that event, teamed with our relationship with the SimEd department at the Children’s Hospital Belfast, we are delighted to lend our support to this exciting educational event.

CCUC’s contribution and support has enabled up to 50 students to travel to Belfast, take part in the competition and be guests at the ASPiH healthcare conference. The next generation of nurses, doctors and nurse practitioners will compete and learn lots from this fun, innovative and educational simulation-based competition.

Speaking ahead of the event, Dr Peter Mallett, ASPiH SimWars 2019 Organising committee said:

“We are extremely grateful of the fantastic and generous support shown by our friends at CCUC. Yet again, they have demonstrated their willingness to invest in healthcare education and simulation-based initiatives by sponsoring this competition. Without their support this exciting international undergraduate event would not have been possible. To all the families, friends and patrons of CCUC, on behalf of the organising committee of the ASPiH SimWars 2019 Student contest, our deepest gratitude.”

Jacqueline Wilkinson from the Children’s Cancer Unit Charity added:

“An important part of our work is to provide any support that we can to the medical teams at the Children’s Cancer Unit – and even beyond. That’s why the Children’s Cancer Unit Charity has again backed this exciting and informative, as well as competitive, event. We look forward to joining everyone in November and to see the teams demonstrating their incredible skills.”
