Past Patient of the Children's Cancer Unit graduates from Law at University
[EXAMPLE] Emily McCartney from Dunmurray was first diagnosed with Leukaemia at the age of 6. She spent a great deal of her youth in the unit receiving treatment, and at the age of 12 she was finally given the all clear. Emily has since gone to Queen’s University to get her degree in Law, but she has also been tirelessly fundraising for the Children’s Cancer Unit over the years.
Due to Emily’s steady campaign for the Children’s Cancer Unit, we have been able to maintain a high level of patient and parent happiness, as well as having an array of new volunteers and ongoing fundraising for new equipment. Emily’s success story is an inspiration to many others, as she not only fought her illness heart and soul, but has gone on to use her experience to continue to do good for the cancer unit.
