Paddy & Robert in training for the race for Ché

31 Jan 2018

Young Ché Duffy is cheering on his Dad Paddy and his running mate Robert Armstrong. Paddy and Robert have begun training for the Belfast marathon in May this year, both men will be going the whole 26.2 miles to support the work of the charity. What an amazing undertaking!

Like Ché we are supporting them all the way! We really appreciate all the fundraising efforts from people right across Northern Ireland and there will certainly be a big CCUC presence at the marathon on May 7th!

Ché’s Mum Andrea explains why the two men are taking on this marathon challenge.

“Childhood cancer is heartbreaking its real and its raw, when your living it, it becomes your new normal and you just adapt your lives to suit it, which we have done and will continue to do until we take that final dose of chemo. We honestly cannot thank The Children’s Cancer Unit enough from the doctors, nurses and support staff this is just one way we can show our support but we are forever in your debt for how much they have helped us on this journey.

“Paddy has watched his son come through this awful disease and wants to give something back as he knows running a marathon is nothing compared to what Ché has come through,  that’s why both him and Robert are doing this, please help them reach their target. Thank you so much for visiting this page and reading Ché’s story. ”
