Renovation Work

The Children’s Cancer & Haematology Unit are to get 2 new isolation rooms with ensuite bathrooms. The rooms shall provide a child friendly, reassuring environment for the treatment of immune-compromised children and their families. The cost of the rooms will be around £800,000 and construction is due to start October/November 2015 to August/September 2016.

The Belfast HSC Trust are at present building a new access corridor directly to the haematology unit at a cost of £200,000 This is where the two new rooms shall be attached to the existing unit. The work for the new corridor aims to be completed by September 2015.

There are moves afoot to increase the number of both senior medical and nursing staff. We will bring you more about this exciting development in the near future.
