Ulster Rugby Stars Visit the Children’s Cancer Unit

Earlier this week, we had a some special visitors to the Unit!

A huge thanks to John Cooney, Matty Rea, Jonny McPhillips & Kyle McCall from Ulster Rugby for calling in to see some of our young patients and bringing with them some early Halloween treats, as well as gear for a very special fan!

The players were given a guided tour of the Haematology & Oncology Ward and our Outpatients Clinic by Play Specialist, Francine McDonald. They met with patients and their families, hearing their stories and experiences at the Unit.

Visits like these can really help put smiles on the faces of our families and our CCU team.

Danielle Smyth and a friend enjoy a quiet moment on a bench beside the iconic Paddington Bear statue, which holds a sandwich as if offering it to passersby. A vehicle hums in the background, adding to this picturesque scene that would make for a perfect Mother’s Day feature.
